Elena Kokkoni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Riverside. Previously, she was at the University of Delaware where she received her postdoctoral training in human-robot interaction and completed her doctorate degree in Biomechanics and Movement Science. She has also received a master's degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha and conducted research at the Nebraska Biomechanics Core Facility. The overall goal of her research is two-fold: To understand how and why humans in the early stages of life move the way they do, and to develop and/or assess technologies to promote movement in young populations with or at risk for movement disorders.
