Building together: Advancing computational knee biomechanics through open research resources and community collaboration
This talk will highlight efforts to advance accessibility, transparency and collaboration in computational knee biomechanics through open resources and community driven efforts. Anchored by the Open Knee(s) Initiative, the Cleveland Clinic team is working on making modeling resources – including data, models and workflows – openly available and accessible to the broader community. Through collaborative efforts the team hopes to build a foundation for sustainable progress in simulation-based knee research.
Ahmet Erdemir: Dr. Erdemir is a leader in open-source computational modeling, focusing on biomechanics data sharing and reproducibility. He has spearheaded initiatives to improve reporting standards in finite element analysis and promote transparency in biomedical modeling.
Snehal Chokhandre: Ms. Chokhandre is a bioengineer specializing in knee biomechanics, leading the Open Knees initiative. She also supports early-stage development and commercialization of medical and digital health technologies at Cleveland Clinic’s Proof-of-Concept office.
