Ana de Sousa is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at Instituto Químico de Sarrià, Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain). Her work focuses on exercise-based rehabilitation for individuals with motor impairments, including spinal cord injury and stroke. She is particularly interested in injury prevention, assistive technologies, and wearable sensing for movement analysis and motor recovery. Before joining IQS, Ana conducted research at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), Griffith University (Australia), and the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil), where she developed expertise across neuromusculoskeletal modelling, rehabilitation technologies, and patient-centred interventions. Outside the lab, Ana enjoys board games, video games, and playing guitar, and takes every opportunity to travel, budget permitting.
